I spent every week for 3 1/2 years commuting from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw Monday-Thursday. Nay Pyi Taw, the capital city of Myanmar, was built in secret beginning in 2002 and in subsequent years entire governmental apparatus of Myanmar was moved there from Yangon. Working there was an interesting experience to say the least. In my position as a Consultant, I was one of the first foreigners in the business sector who regularly traveled to the reclusive capital and worked extensively with the government. A few blog posts to follow but first I wanted to post a few pictures to give everyone a sense of how strange yet enchanting a "ghost" city like Nay Pyi Taw can be.
